Nobody has posted in a while, so I thouht I'd start a thread.

So far, I'm really liking the game. Leveling is slow, but not compared to other MMOs....it's really pretty fast. It'd be faster if I had been able to decide between 2 classes that I was looking at in the beginning and have now split exp/time between a level 15 and a 23.

Tanks and Healers are just ridiculous, as are BW/Sorcs. The remaining classes seem to all be fun to play as well, and have their own niche as far as role ...

I find that the most important things are staying alive and picking the right targets. Try not to get caught completely alone behind enemy lines. Try to keep aware of the situation, where your team is, how far away you are wandering. Often I will find myself surrounded by 3-4 order with no destruction in sight because I was chasing down an engineer. ...

What do you guys think about forming a guild alliance? Nothing specific just another group of people that we can do stuff with and have like minded ideals, more casual than anything.

After I had quit wow I went and played AoC the game sucked but I met a good group of people. The guild name is Brutality and I think they are good group of people.

Reason this has come up is we Brutality were approached to form an alliance with the other 2 big guilds on the server, but we really didn't ...

Suckage?...you don't have much choice if you want to be a female melee class on the destruction side.Double suckage.

Tanks - Taunt

I'm not sure if this applies to any class other than Black Orc, but Taunt works in PvP. Not in the traditional sense of "forces the monster/target to attack you" but it DOES increase damage taken by said target by 30%. Its an amazing ability to open up with on whatever you're bashing. It not only makes you do an acceptable level of damage with a 1 hander, but it makes it considerably harder to heal them. The effect lasts for 15 seconds or until they hit you 3 times. Pretty awesome ...

Won't be all coming out at once, but I'm guessing that how they have the core servers and then the RvR and roleplaying servers at top then other core servers listed later on that the top of the list will be first ones out.

So the first 10 servers under the North American List? Just a guess but can start to look and see what server we are going to start on

This may not be a popular opinion, but MANY of us here have gone through the "picking the wrong faction" thing before. It might be a better decision to go order to avoid waiting for battlegrounds. It may not be a issue while leveling but when we hit max level is will be a issue. It will suck. And we will end up re-rolling.

2 gigs of ram

If your planning to upgrade, my PC has 2 gigs and it runs WAR just fine.

The head start and server selection conflict was discussed by a few of us on Monday, and I'd like to repeat that here so that everyone knows what's going on.

The way Jason explained it to me, and correct me if I'm wrong Jason, was that for the different head starts (CE on the 14th, and reg-Preorder on the 16th) they're going to open up select servers on the 14th and then population cap them, and then do the same thing on the 16th.

Hosting a ventrilo server is really quite easy. It's a very small app, and you're only required to have a static IP (+$5 a month for Embarq users), or a Dynamic DNS (maps mydomainname.xxx to a dynamically assigned IP address), which is even less a year. If anyone wants to host, I can help them set it up. You'd want the computer/server you choose to run it on to start on all the time though. I'd host it myself, but my latency ...

Once I pick a class, I'll probably stick with it, which means I'll be learning the game on this character as well.

My question is: Is there anything that is non-reversible? Like in WoW, you chose talent points, but you could always "re-spec", so if you screwed up early on by just randomly picking talents that looked cool, you could always wipe them out later with better choices. So in WAR, is there anything permanent that you could screw up that would force you to have to start ...

Was just wondering if we were gonna set up some sort of VoIP program like vent so we can all talk in game? In past experiences, Vent is the way to go, but it costs a little money to get a server and I'm a broke mofo. Skype is another option, and is free...but only like maybe 4-6 people can talk at 1 time.

Open Beta / Head Start

From what I understand, a type of open Beta will be available on the 7th of September. Then, before the official launch, that will close down and the real "head start" will open a few days before Sept 18th(launch)? Except in head start, you get to keep your characters.

Anyone have any information to confirm or conflict with this?

Matt/Nils/Misty and I got the 99c Target thing and our Mythic accounts are flagged for both..although we aren't exactly sure where that comes ...
